I realize it has been awhile, but its been rough work wise and health wise. For the last 3.5 weeks I have been working at island county. Its been rough working 12+ hours a day. I usually leave to drive around 5:30am and I get home around 5:30 pm. The drive is beautiful, but long (about 80 miles each direction). Unfortunately my working out has been put aside for the most part until the hours go down in a week.

In addition been having a hard time with the Big H (if you don't know what it is, trust me you don't want to know) which has been making my four hours of driving a day very uncomfortable. It was especially bad when it bled out... yes a bad couple of weeks.

The good news is the reimbursement for these shifts will help pay down our credit card debt quite a bit. In addition I got to work with a coworker who has a CIA certification (Certified Internal Auditor). After having talked with him, and done some research I think I might switch tracks to getting my CIA. Its more useful for me (I like auditing and the CPA is more geared for accounting). It would mean new study materials, but I think I would approach it with more excitement and not so much dread. It is also just as marketable both in the USA and in other world markets.

Other than that, we just went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.  I have to say this is the first time ever that I think the movie did better than the book. I like the world, but Rowling needs to have an editor cut down all the excess stuff like they did in the first books. It was a pretty good movie though, we both enjoyed it. We are now both sitting in the living room and watching old Night Gallery episodes.

Hopefully I will post more soon.

I can relate to the long work hours. The only thing bad for us is that since I am salaried, I don't get paid for all the overtime I put in. This really sucks :-(

Yay on the paydown of credit card debt! :-)

Sadly I am salaried as well, but we do get some exchange time. This month we got approved for the first time for up to 16 hours of overtime, that is to make up partially for the pay cut we got as government workers. The mileage reimbursement though is what is really paying down our credit card... YAY!!!

Yeah, that's rough! I used to look at the salaried folk rather enviously, but when you have to work absurd hours for the same pay, that's kind of a crock.

Honestly normally I don't work like this. Its just an unusual situation.

Yeahhh. I'm glad it won't last forever! It sounds like it's doing okay for you, really (at least with the mileage).

I think I must kind of like Rowling's extra stuff? I dunno. I said the other day something like, I enjoy the world she created, and I do enjoy the characters as well, but sometimes the plot is a bit contrived, like an episode of Murder She Wrote or something.

12 hour days, jeez. I'm going to be working 8-5 pretty soon, and I'm a little anxious about it. Seems like it leaves such little time open for doing anything except work and the necessities. :s I can't imagine doing 12 hour days. Hang in there!

The CIA sounds great!

Its pretty much why my workout routine has completely fallen apart and I am grumpier. But its the last week so I will tough it out :)
