Mother's Day

Well today was fairly painless. We went up and visited my mother for Mother's Day. Both her and my father are doing fairly well. I baked them a carrot cake made from scratch. I think the cake was awesome personally, but I wasn't as pleased with the new cream cheese frosting. I don't think I will use it again. Although evidently my family liked it enough that everyone went back for seconds. I think I may have to post that recipe. It was originally an Alton Brown recipe, with a little tweaking it turned out awesome.

I then decided to make an icon with an image of me. I was just screwing around when I took this picture:

While its not a very clear picture, I thought it was funny that Orpheus decided to meow at imake1tgirl at that point.

Right now I am recovering from eating Jack in the Box early this afternoon. I wont be making the mistake of fast food again (we didn't want to risk a restaurant on Mother's Day).

Tomorrow will be fun, its probably a 12 hour day as I have my normal shift at the county, then I have to go out to the School District I finished and do an exit conference with the school board (thats another 30 minutes each way and up to an hour for the board meeting plus questions). I am hoping I can keep it down to a 10 hour day, but that seems fairly unrealistec at the moment.
